Kittitas County is a large, rural county, and when people call for help, they expect someone to show up. I believe in maintaining strong in-person response across our communities—whether that call comes from a city neighborhood, a small town, or a rural area.

As Sheriff, I will prioritize staffing, training, and deployment strategies that ensure deputies are available and prepared to respond when residents need assistance. Public safety is not just about taking reports—it’s about being present, accessible, and engaged with the people we serve. Showing up matters, and it builds trust that can’t be replaced by technology or distance.

Holding offenders accountable is a core responsibility of law enforcement, and I believe it must be done with professionalism, fairness, and respect. Effective crime-fighting requires well-trained deputies who understand the law, follow proper procedures, and treat every person with dignity.

My approach is grounded in high professional standards, strong supervision, and ongoing training. As Sheriff, I will ensure deputies have the tools and support they need to investigate crimes thoroughly, protect victims, and enforce the law consistently. Accountability—both for offenders and within the Sheriff’s Office—is essential to maintaining public trust.

As Sheriff, I will focus on preparing our office for future demands by investing in training, maintaining strong partnerships with other agencies, and ensuring we are ready to respond to major incidents, natural disasters, and emerging challenges. Preparing today helps protect what makes Kittitas County a special place to live and raise a family.
